While the 2023 Sep cohort settled in, it is time to prepare your graduating class for the 2024/25 application! This is a long email but every piece of information is IMPORANT to help guide your students apply to PolyU! I would be grateful if you could spend some time to read through it. (Million thanks!)


PolyU started accepting UG applications on Sep 21. Like before, there are a few rounds of application but we strongly encourage students to apply early. To better facilitate your college counselling work, below please find the information and updates of our admissions:

INFORMATION FOR COUNSELLORS – 2024/25 ADMISSIONS

Strengths of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)

  1. Comprehensive UG programme offerings (Business, Engineering, Design, Fashion, Health and Social Sciences, Hotel and Tourism, Humanities and Sciences) >> Programme List and Prospectus << (*New Programme: Dual degree with the Copenhagen Business School offered by the Faculty of Business)
  2. English is the medium of instruction; Chinese is NOT required for admission
  3. Guaranteed internship opportunities
  4. Guaranteed overseas study opportunities with 280+ exchange partners across 37 countries/regions
  5. A diverse community of students coming from over 60 countries/regions, across programme levels
  6. Campuses and student halls are located in the heart of the city, with guaranteed accommodation for first-year students

Application essentials

  1. Application period: Sep 21, 2023 – Feb 6, 2024 (Early-round: Sep 21 – Nov 16, 2023; Main-round: Nov 17, 2023 – Feb 6, 2024).
  2. After Feb 6, subject to the availability of seats, some programmes may accept late applications.
  3. Application assessment, offer and scholarship issuances are conducted on a rolling basis. The earlier, the merrier.
  4. Conditional offers with entry scholarship details (if any) will be issued.
  5. Each applicant can apply for up to 2 schemes. Both choices will be considered equally.

Application materials

  1. completed online application and settled application fee (USD57/HKD450).
  2. Required documents: Passport; 2022/23 and 2023/24 high school transcripts; Predicted grades (if applicable).
  3. Optional documents (depends on individual programmes): Personal statement; recommendation letter; portfolio [Please check HERE for the requirements].
  4. Students are encouraged to nominate at least one academic referee in their application.
  5. Students can always access to their application portal to update informational after submitting the application.

Scholarship and financial aid

  1. Academic and non-academic scholarships are available to cover full four years of tuition fee.
  2. Students excel in both academic and non-academic fields may receive both awards.
  3. Scholarship amount ranges from 50% to 140% of tuition fee (Tuition plus living allowance).
  4. Special Talent Admissions & Recognition Scheme (STARS) for favorable admission consideration. Students should check a box in the STARS section in their admission application and provide relevant documents for assessment. Shortlisted students will be invited to a compulsory interview.
  5. No separate application is required.
  6. After enrollment, guaranteed subsidy for international learning programmes is provided.
