To all staff members and students, As a follow-up to the success of "English Celebration 2017" held on 15 January, we are pleased to announce the implementation of "English-speaking Monday" which mainly aims at enhancing English communication skills for all staff members and students. In order to make it possible and to help everyone reap the benefits of this program, please read below for important information on changes:
1. School website and in-house notices: + We strive to provide bilingual website in both Vietnamese and English. + Emails to all staff members will be composed in English (with official Vietnamese version enclosed) .
2. School assembly: + Every Monday, the in-charge group of students will write a report in English. Teacher Nguyen Tien Lam and teacher Vu Thi Lan Anh are responsible for reminding the group to send their report (both in Vietnamese and English) to Mr Le Cong loi and teacher Nguyen Thi Linh Nga prior to the assembly. + All notices from the school board will be delivered in English. + In the last 10 to 20 minutes of every school assembly, topic-based games or activities will be conducted by members of the school's English club.
3. Class meeting: + Form teachers with limited English capacity are advised to assign one of their students to be the chairperson of the meeting. He or she is supposed to briefly report the previous week and inform other students of all essential duties of the incoming week. Form teachers are also encouraged to use English if possible. + English teachers are obliged to use English at all time. + The school board shall exercise random visit during the operational time. Form teachers who cease to comply with these regulations will be reported as absent.
4. Activities during classes and recesses on Monday + Every week, members of English club must propose the topic for "English-speaking Monday" to teacher Nguyen Thi Linh Nga and Nguyen Thanh Van by Friday. Topic of the week will be posted on the school's website by Saturday. Teachers need to encourage all students to prepare for "English-speaking Monday" regarding the topic with sufficient and efficient attention. + During recesses, all teachers and students should expand their opportunities of exposure to English communication. English teachers and English club's members should make all efforts to assist other teachers and students to improve their English proficiency. + During classes, teachers and students are encouraged to greet each other in English. Teachers can use some simple terms and concepts, or give students feedbacks in English if possible. We would appreciate your cooperation while we all work to implement these changes. Hopefully, "English-speaking Monday" will be strictly practiced with great enthusiasm from all teachers and students. |
