Important notes:
- They are welcome to apply with any one of the qualifications listed above. SAT is not required for students applying with the Vietnamese qualification.
- On top of the university entrance requirements, all applicants must meet the English language requirements. We accept a wide range of qualifications and tests including but not limited to IELTS academic overall 6.0, Grade C in IGCSE First Language English, Grade B in IGCSE English as a Second Language or Grade E in GCE AS English. Please see the full list with details at http://admissions.hkbu.edu.hk/ug/intl_requirement.
- Scholarship baseline is for reference only. Competition for Science programme is vigorous and usually requires higher score to be considered for scholarship.
- Applicants will also be evaluated based on their non-academic performance, personal attributes, and interview performance.
- Award of scholarship is subject to availability and competition.
I sincerely hope that we can achieve more positive results with Vietnamese students, here’re my suggestion:
- It is crucial to identify the students who consider HKBU as the best fit. In the past, there were students who applied without thorough research, resulting in poor interview performance and undesirable application outcomes. While we are eager to welcome your students, it is important that the students are making a well-informed decision.
- After identifying the right candidates, nominate them via the HKBU School Nomination Scheme. Eligible nominees can enjoy an application fee waiver and be considered for an admissions scholarship. Although the Scheme is open until 31 Jan 2025, if students are interested in scholarship, please complete the nomination process, i.e. submit a complete nomination by you, email declaration from the student after completing the online application (without paying for the application fee), at least 2 working days before the Early Round deadline (10 Nov 2024).
- Personal statement is not required, but students who wish to be considered for scholarship are encouraged to submit one. Nonetheless, there are no guidelines on the content and format.
Thank you for your attention to this, and I look forward to seeing applications from your students!
